Role Overview

The Guidewire Policy Developer position at Coforge requires hands-on experience in Guidewire Policy and Rating, along with strong technical knowledge in the insurance domain. In this role, you’ll be working in one of the core streams: Configuration, Integration, Conversion, or Rating. You’ll have the chance to apply your expertise in a global environment and collaborate with teams across various locations to deliver high-quality solutions for clients in the insurance industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and suggest updates for estimates related to your module.
  • Design and develop solutions in line with project requirements and timelines.
  • Support testing and address client queries effectively.
  • Participate in scrum calls and provide regular status reports.
  • Mentor and guide the team in design and development tasks.
  • Collaborate with onsite teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Contribute to Center of Excellence activities, training, and continuous improvement.

Skills & Qualifications

Mandatory Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of the insurance domain, specifically Property & Casualty.
  • Hands-on experience with Guidewire Policy & Rating (Version 7x, 8.x).
  • Expertise in Guidewire platform components (Gosu scripting, UI, Data Model).
  • Proficient in Web Services (SOAP/REST) and XML.
  • Experience with databases such as Oracle/SQL Server and solid SQL skills.
  • Experience with SCRUM Agile methodology (Certified Scrum Master preferred).
  • Familiarity with servers like Tomcat/JBoss.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Skills (For Tech Lead and Senior Tech Leads):

  • Strong knowledge in software architecture and design patterns.
  • Experience in estimation, team leadership, and code reviews.
  • Experience working on at least two Guidewire implementations.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Thunderhead experience.
