Overview

The GitHub Channel Partner team is a sales organization accountable for the partner business at GitHub, and the mission is to build and sell GitHub solutions services with our managed partners, and help our customers to achieve more.

As a Technical Partner Manager, you will be the driving force behind our partners’ digital transformation journey. Leveraging your technical expertise and cloud knowledge, you will align our partners’ technology roadmap with GitHub’s solutions and priorities. By doing so, you will empower our partners to deliver exceptional ROI to their customers while driving business growth and innovation.

Responsibilities

Thought Leadership & Stakeholder Management:

  • Drive innovation to meet future market demand and maximize partner impact. Establish long-term engagement to influence large partners in adopting GitHub Technologies.
  • Proven track record of developing deep technical relationships with CXOs and building executive relations with highly strategic partners.

Partner Enablement:

  • Experience in offering guidance to the broader technical team to ensure that technical pre-sales, deployment, and consumption are part of solution development efforts; ability to coach the partner on building resilience to technical issues and dealing with competition.

Business Acumen:

  • Knowledge and ability to develop, use, and/or discuss GitHub products and articulate the value proposition of GitHub solutions to partners.
  • Understanding of business processes and the ability to identify opportunities where technology can drive business value.
  • Experience in translating technical solutions into business benefits.

Collaborative Mindset:

  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and engage in productive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

Global Systems Integrators Partner Experience:

  • Working for or with GSI’s and understanding the impact of the partner ecosystem in a sell-to and sell-with go-to-market motion

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Several years of experience in technical roles such as software engineering, solutions engineering, solutions architecture, or other roles related to DevOps and DevSecOps
  • Several years of experience in Sales, Sales Development, Co-sales or similar roles
  • Experience working with Global System Integrators and partner development
  • Ability to travel across time zones a minimum of 20% to support the needs of partners and the business

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Microsoft sales & services approaches, roles, and go-to-market strategies
  • Strong background and in-depth knowledge of cloud technologies, with a focus on GitHub’s offerings (GHE, Copilot, GHAS)
  • Demonstrable ability in Global Systems Integrator GTM development for consumption based saas products
  • Experience in technology solutions or services development, with a deep understanding of digital transformation business drivers, cloud platforms, and emerging cloud trends like generative AI and SaaS services
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, driving business growth, fostering innovation, and navigating complex organizational landscapes
