Job Overview

The Financial Analyst (Remittance Analyst) role involves ensuring accurate and timely application of remittance-related transactions while adhering to agreed service level agreements (SLAs). The role demands exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. You will act as a subject matter expert and drive process improvements across remittance and financial reconciliation operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, investigate, and resolve complex service requests related to payment discrepancies and misapplied payments.
  • Post customer payments accurately and within agreed timelines across multiple regions.
  • Conduct variance analysis using advanced Excel tools such as VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve issues related to payment files and account discrepancies.
  • Analyze and document variances in customer accounts, ensuring alignment between bank deposits and payment postings.
  • Lead special projects, including audits, regulatory requests, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Support team members with escalated issues and provide expertise in training and documentation.
  • Prepare month-end accounting and financial reports for payment channels and resolve reconciliation variances.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance; Post-graduation is an advantage.
  • 5+ years of experience in operations, backend support, reporting, or data analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of accounts receivable, remittance operations, and financial reconciliations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to constant change.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in remittance, billing, or transaction management.
  • Prior experience with EDI transaction processing and operational exception handling.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including macros and pivot tables.

Technology Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with third-party billing systems like iSigma Customer Care & Billing (CC&B) and Salesforce.
  • SQL query language skills are a plus.
