The Graduate Deskside Support Engineer will provide technical support and assistance to end-users in an organization. This role involves diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, setting up and maintaining computer systems, and ensuring smooth IT operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for helping others with their technical needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to and resolve user issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity in a timely manner.
- Provide support for operating systems, applications, and peripheral devices.
- Document and track issues using a ticketing system.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware and software.
- Perform regular updates and patches to ensure systems are secure and up-to-date.
- Manage inventory of hardware and software assets.
- Assist users with setting up new hardware and software.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues through research, analysis, and testing.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex problems.
- Escalate issues to higher-level support when necessary.
- Assist with basic network and server administration tasks.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through professional and courteous service.
- Communicate effectively with users to understand their technical needs and provide appropriate solutions.
- Follow up with users to ensure issues are fully resolved.
Educations Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum Diploma in Information technology/computer science/engineering/network infrastructure or relevant technical area of study
- Relevant internship and/or academic project experience in related to deskside support would be an advantage
- Passion for IT Digital infrastructure in the emerging platforms or domains
- Track record of outstanding academic performance and co-curricular activities
- Willingness to learn and an interest in information technology services
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility and willingness to work on different projects if required
