Main Job Purpose:
This role is responsible for managing all front end supply chain activities for Deos & Male Toiletries category for India. Key job scope includes:
- Demand Planning

Key Accountabilities:
DMT is currently ~300 cr GSV business in India and there are strong plans in place to grow this business exponentially over the next 3 to 5 yrs. This role in specific will be responsible for managing all front end supply chain activities for this category and will report to DMT Supply Chain Manager. Key job scope would include:
- Demand Planning
- Customer Service
- Distribution Planning
- Inventory Planning
- Performance Management
Demand Planning:
- Work with customer development and marketing team to make 12 months operational demand plan for DMT category in India for both local and imported portfolio.
- Ensure the 12 months operational demand plan is visible in new Anaplan (part of Project Seer) and uploaded into APO for operational supply planning.
- Understand key trends, drivers for demand growth/decline and prepare a executive summary for key stakeholders.
- Conduct a Demand-Supply reconciliation (DSR) with the supply planner to highlight any risks to the operating plan and make actions to mitigate that.
- Driving S&OP process in the business (starting from identifying gaps in forecasts vs. targets, orders vs. forecasts and then finally supply vs. orders)
- Prepare a long-term forecast (5-year horizon), taking inputs from the business on long-term growth ambitions and submitting the same to the UI Global category SC teams for capacity planning.
- Work closely with the network planners to build innovation forecast into the demand plan.
Customer Service:
- Manage the ‘Order To Cash’ cycle for the master distributor for the DMT category.
- Ensure orders are received in right format and entered into the system at right depot as per the standard requirements.
- Work closely with customer to arrange funds and coordinate dispatches from Unilever depots to their depots located across India.
Distribution Planning:
- Responsible for setting the stock norms at each depot in line with service strategy.
- Work with supply planner to arrange dispatches from sourcing units to various depots based on the stock norms set.
- Design and execute the right distribution strategy (direct from sourcing units to depots or via hubs) in line with production frequency of various SKUs and load ability for various lanes to optimize the overall distribution cost.
Inventory Planning:
- Monitor inventory levels at both Unilever and customer depots to ensure stocks are in line with norms.
- Track inventory ageing at both Unilever and customer depots and highlight potential slow moving and obsolete stocks.
- Work with customer development team to make action plans to minimize business waste.
Performance Management:
- Deliver on key supply chain metrics of service, cash and cost.
- Institutionalize regular calls with customer and design a scorecard to track front end supply chain performance.
- Work with customer and CD team to improve forecast accuracy and bias by understanding drivers for the gaps.
- Service level measurement and loss tree analysis to understand drivers for gaps.
- Design the right inventory for finished goods at both Unilever and customer depots and track stock holding against that.
- Minimize business waste by highlighting stock ageing regularly at both Unilever and customers depots and make action plans to liquidate that.
- Work on savings program to minimize overall system cost.
ESSENTIAL
Professional Skills:
- Master’s /Bachelor’s degree
