Job Description
A Software Product Manager at an Indian Bank is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of software products, from conceptualization to launch and post-launch management. This role requires a deep understanding of the banking industry, customer needs, and technology trends. The Product Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative software solutions that align with the bank’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy and Management
- Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and threats.
- Develop business cases and financial models to support product initiatives.
- Prioritize product features based on customer needs, business value, and technical feasibility.
- Monitor product performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
Product Development and Launch
- Collaborate with technology teams to translate product requirements into technical specifications.
- Develop and write comprehensive Business Requirement Documents (BRDs).
- Create detailed process notes and use cases.
- Manage product backlog and prioritize features for development.
- Ensure timely delivery of product releases while maintaining high quality standards.
- Develop go-to-market strategies and launch plans for new products and services.
- Conduct product training and enablement for internal and external stakeholders.
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Effectively communicate product vision and strategy to stakeholders at all levels.
- Resolve conflicts and ensure alignment across teams.
Data Analysis and Insights
- Analyze product performance data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Use data to inform product decisions and drive continuous improvement.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong product management experience in the banking or financial services industry.
- Deep understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
- Excellent ability to write clear and concise BRDs, process notes, and use cases.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements.
