Role Overview
As a Functional Safety Engineer at KPIT Technologies, you will work closely with a team of experts to ensure the safety of automotive and aerospace electrical products. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement functional safety processes and guidelines, particularly within the framework of Classic Autosar. This position requires expertise in safety standards like ISO 26262 and IEC 61508, as well as hands-on experience with safety analysis techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement functional safety processes, manuals, and guidelines based on ISO 26262 and IEC 61508 standards.
- Work with Classic Autosar, specifically in the development of Basic Software (BSW) and related safety components.
- Conduct safety analysis such as FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), FTA (Fault Tree Analysis), and HARA (Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety and compliance at the system and vehicle levels.
- Develop and conduct training sessions for technical processes and safety guidelines.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, templates, and procedures for safety analysis and development.
Required Experience
- 3-9 years of experience in Functional Safety with Classic Autosar, including BSW development.
- Solid understanding of automotive or aerospace electrical and electronic systems and controls.
- In-depth knowledge of functional safety standards like ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.
- Experience in performing safety analysis (FMEA, FTA, HARA).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to engineering teams.

- Vehicle-level experience with functional safety.
- Reliability engineering knowledge and experience.
- Experience in developing and maintaining safety-related technical processes, procedures, and templates.
- Training skills for technical processes and safety standards.
