Role Overview
The Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in Meta’s Accelerator Design Team, focusing on designing and optimizing mechanical systems for AI accelerators. From concept creation to product deployment, this role involves hands-on development, simulation, and testing to deliver world-class solutions for Meta’s custom AI ASICs and accelerator modules.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Hardware Design and Data Center Operations teams for seamless product integration and deployment.
- Validate product performance against internal customer requirements using advanced design and simulation tools.
- Perform tolerance analysis, motion studies, and performance evaluations for part and assembly levels.
- Design, prototype, and test module products for Meta’s custom AI ASICs.
- Create test plans, design test equipment, and execute testing procedures to verify design performance.
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or mechatronic engineering or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience designing and shipping commercial products.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as Creo or SolidWorks.
- End-to-end experience in product development from concept to deployment.
- Expertise in FEA and CFD for optimizing shock, vibration, and thermal performance.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience designing and shipping data center system equipment.
- Experience in production designs for custom ASICs.
- Proficiency in designing plastic, die-cast, extrusion, and machined parts.
- Advanced degrees (Masters or PhD) in mechanical or mechatronic engineering.
- SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.
