redBus is looking to scale up the stage carriage charter. The charter aims to tackle the problem spaces relevant to the stage carriage segment of buses (short route intercity buses predominantly plying from tier 1 to nearby tier 2 cities and/or connectivity across Tier 2 and tier 3 cities). This is relatively a nascent charter for redBus with immense growth potential.
We plan on solving for problem spaces that are relevant to both B2C and B2B, on B2C, we are looking at bunch of initiatives including optimized user experience for stage carriage local travelers with features such as live tracking (something which is largely unavailable to passengers within this segment), reimagining the ticketing flow with features such as scan and book, pay at bus, digital pass and in-bus ticketing (QR, POS machine), on B2B, we are looking at providing lighter GDS/ticketing software to this segment of bus operators (who are largely offline) with initiatives such as analytics dashboards and automated reconciliation systems, configurations to name a few.
We are looking for a passionate, experienced, high caliber, energetic, grounded individual who can own and execute the supply/sales side of the above program. And who will put the customer first at all times without rhyme or reason and in all seasons!
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end monetization and business growth for redBus Stage Carriage charter.
- Advocate for product and monetization strategies adoption among bus operators and provide market insights and customer/operator feedback for product improvement.
- Identify market opportunities, recommend strategic interventions, and support redBus in expanding services across regions.
- Assess region potential and challenges for inventory acquisition, collaborating with teams for smooth inventory onboarding.
- Proactively address execution challenges to minimize risks and keep stakeholders informed and aligned on progress.
- Cultivate vendor relationships and serve as the main point of contact.
- Contribute to the development of new stage carriage strategies.
- Analyze and present data to support data-driven decisions.
Educational Qualification: Graduation in any discipline with MBA
Experience: 5-7 years in a BD role, coordinating with cross functional teams. Exposure to travel and ticketing platforms will be preferred.
Key skills required for the role:
- Prior experience of launching multiple pan-India initiatives in an operational role, working with ground teams, vendors and other HQ-based stakeholders
- Highly execution-focused, resourceful, self-motivated and result-oriented individual
- Comfortable with uncertainty and ability to give method to the madness through a high structured problem solving approach
- Hand-on knowledge of advanced data analysis through Excel.
- Multi-lingual would be a plus
