The Coca-Cola Company is hiring Director, Project Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Lead the definition of the new India Greenfield site to meet India growth needs, portfolio complexity and KORE/cost/schedule objectives. This includes aligning operating strategy for short and long term, site flow/layout and WorkCentre design/equipment selection.
  • Lead the detailed design for the site with the selected design partner.
  • Partner with operations/startup team to start-up the new site.
  • Lead a team of 4-5 degreed engineers. Each of the team members will be responsible for the selection, design, fabrication & startup of the equipment system assigned to them.
  • Project management

Coordinate personnel (e.g. other project engineers, technicians, contractors etc.) to ensure the projects objectives are satisfied. Propose and control the cost of the project in accordance with the Guidelines for Capital Investment.

Propose and monitor the project in accordance with the key performance indicators.

Demonstrate and promote the company’s values.

  • Compliances

Ensure product and process compliance in line with Internal policies, standards and legal requirements.

Ensure workplace safety and effective communication of Safety, Health and environment to all team members.

Ensure good and hygienic engineering practices are applied during the design phase of the project.

  • Design phase

Ensure that all assets are well designed (i.e. plant layout, equipment selection etc.) and fit the business purpose through applying new technologies, proven principles, thorough design reviews and basic science.

Support all Value Engineering Analysis (VEA) studies.

Ensure that the design is directed towards highly efficient and flexible operation.

Civil design of building to be evaluated and validated basis the requirement of equipment’s installation.

  • Implementation phase

Always ensure safe work site and installations that are easy to operate, clean and maintain as well as guaranteeing after commissioning the safe, consistent manufacture/distribution of quality products.

Ensure that when working with external engineering services, contractors, suppliers etc. that the scope, deliverables, performance, and milestones are clearly detailed and agreed up front.

Ensure that a Project progress report is prepared for all projects on a monthly basis and circulated in first week of the month.

Steering committee meetings to be done regularly for required alignment.

  • Start-up / close out phase (commissioning/final report)

Ensure that the project scope is achieved within the agreed cost and timing.

Ensure that the operators, mechanics, electricians etc. are effectively trained. This includes all the supporting documentation that will be required by the client to operate and maintain the plant. e.g. operating instructions, equipment manuals, plant layouts, maintenance instructions, spare parts listing etc.

Manage the allocation of all expenditures to clearly defined assets and the entry into the assets register.

Complete a final report on all projects and ensure that this is circulated to the key stakeholders.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in a food manufacturing environment in engineering and operations.
  • Knowledge of KORE requirements. Ability to work with SMEs distributed across the globe.
  • Experience in Complex program management / implementation, influencing and communication skills.
  • Experience with Industry 4.0 solutions, including robotics and automation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
  • Detailed knowledge of capital project oversight including new equipment installation and vendor management
  • Excellent project management, planning and organization skills and ability to work and deliver in changing environments while adhering to specified deadlines.
  • Detail oriented, analytical, and creative thinker with passion for quality processes
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
